Trial Set For Physician Tied To 3 Doors Down Guitarists Fatal Overdose
ALABAMA (CelebrityAccess) – A trial has been set for the Alabama physician tied to the overdose death of 3 Doors Down guitarist Matthew Roberts in August of 2016.
Dr. Richard Snellgrove of Fairhope is accused of improperly prescribing fentanyl and other drugs to Roberts who he initially began treating in 2005, and could face up to 240 years in prison and up to $2.8 million in fines if convicted.
Snellgrove has pleaded not guilty.
Roberts’ family has also filed a civil suit against Snellgrove and Rite Aid Corp. in the state of Alabama, however, the case remains stayed pending the outcome of Snellgrove’s criminal proceedings.
Roberts was a founding member of 3 Doors Down and co-authored the band’s hit song “Kryptonite.
