Sid Vicious was a British bassist and vocalist. He was the bass guitarist of the punk rock band Sex Pistols. Other members of the band were Johnny Rotten, Steve Jones, Glen Matlock, and Paul Cook. He was also a member of rock band Siouxsie and the Banshees, with Siouxsie Sioux and Robert Smith. Sid was also known as Spikey John, The Prince of Punk, Simon Ferocious, John Simon Beverley, and One of the Johns.
Sid was the son of Anne Jeanette (McDonald) and John Ritchie, a soldier. Anne was from Manchester, Lancashire, England.
