Keyshia Cole, the celebrated entertainment figure, was born in Oakland, California, on October 15, 1981. She is the daughter of Frankie Lons and boxing trainer Virgil Hunter. With African-American and Mexican heritage, Cole had a challenging childhood as her biological mother struggled with addiction.

At the age of two, she was placed in foster care, but fortunately, Keyshia Cole was later adopted by family friends Leon Cole and Yvonne Cole, who gave her their surname. Throughout her upbringing, she had the support of her three siblings: Neffeteria PughElite Noel, and Sean Cole.

Keyshia Cole initially attended Fremont High School in Oakland, California, where he spent a significant portion of his educational journey. However, he eventually transferred to Tracy High School in Tracy, California, and completed his studies there, ultimately earning his high school diploma.
