Jordin Sparks gives birth to her first child

Jordin Sparks has welcomed her first child with her husband Dana Isaiah.

The American Idol winner gave birth to a baby boy called Dana Isaiah Thomas Jr, affectionately known as DJ, on May 2. He was born in Los Angeles at the National Birth Center & Woman’s Wellness, weighing in at 8lbs 4.5oz.

Jordin shared a picture of their new bundle of joy on Instagram, stating that “we couldn’t be more in love”.

Dana echoed the heartfelt sentiment on Instagram, posting two adorable photos of the newborn.

Speaking to People about the birth, Jordin said: “It was miraculously beautiful. Dana caught him with my midwife, Simona, and when he handed him to me, I was absolutely overwhelmed with joy. He was and is everything we imagined.”

She added: “I’m feeling pretty good! I am so grateful for my husband and amazing team at the Natural Birthing Center. I don’t think I would be feeling this great without them!?”

Jordin and Dana got married in July 2017 and announced their pregnancy news in November. The couple held a gender reveal party for their family and friends before sharing with the world that they were expecting a baby boy.
