King opened up about her career to Byrdie. She says that she doesn't like to take herself too seriously. "It's the greatest gift I give myself, just being an idiot. I think not being able to make fun of yourself comes from comparing yourself to other people too much. It's hard not to. I'm human. I do it, too. Whether you're in the public eye or not, there's so much we have to let go."

King opened up about her fitness journey to Byrdie. She says that she needs to exercise on a regular basis for her overall wellbeing. "This sounds odd, but I didn't know that I was the type of person that needs exercise to not feel wound up. If I'm feeling pent up and I don't know why, if I just move my body, then all of a sudden I'm so much more relaxed."

Goals can be a good thing to set, as they can keep you motivated. However, King doesn't believe in doing so, and has some good reasons. "I don't really make those," she tells Byrdie. "Because you'll never be happy. Either you'll reach that goal and then just be thinking about the next one, or you won't reach that goal, and then you'll be miserable forever."

King makes sure to stay grounded throughout her life. She opened up about the importance of this to Byrdie. "Whatever I'm doing, whether it be something exciting or mundane, I just try to ground myself in the here and now, as generic as that sounds. To put down this little rectangle box in my hand."

One thing King likes to do to stay in shape is weight train. She shared this video of herself lifting a curved dumbbell at the gym on Instagram. She captioned it, "Personal record, 140 lbs." Weight training has a lot of benefits. The Mayo Clinic reports, "Strength training may enhance your quality of life and improve your ability to do everyday activities. Strength training can also protect your joints from injury. Building muscle also can contribute to better balance and may reduce your risk of falls."
