Essien Is Not Broke He Simply Stopped Paying The Mortgage on His $20m and $30m Properties Sports
Ghanaian sports journalist Saddick Adama aka Sports Obama has come out to clarify the reasons that ex-Black Stars midfielder Michael Essien’s two properties in East Legon have been ordered to be auctioned by the High Court.
Ever since the news about the court order went viral, reports have emerged that this is happening due to Essien being broke.
However, Obama has come out to debunk that interpretation of the court order.
According to him, the two properties, one of which is worth $20m and the other which is worth $30m, were mortgage purchases by the Ghanaian footballer.
He said Essien was making payments on the house but at a point in his career the payments just did not make any sense so he stopped paying.
Obama said due to that the bank has come to repossess the building and that’s all that is happening hence to say Essien is broke is simply not accurate.
